Over the next 15 months, CHERISH will support photo libraries, archives, and image heritage professionals in building digital skills and accessing innovative cloud-based tools to strengthen preservation, collaboration, and future-ready practices across Europe.

Commission publishes Code of Practice on marking and labelling AI-generated content
The European Commission has published the final voluntary Code of Practice on marking and labelling AI-generated content ahead of new AI Act transparency obligations coming into force on 2 August 2026. The Code provides practical guidance for AI providers and deployers on labelling synthetic content, deepfakes and AI-generated material to improve transparency and trust across the digital ecosystem.

On 10 June 2026, the European Union published its Code of Practice on the Transparency of AI-Generated Content. This was prior to the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) coming into force on 2 August 2026. It is available here.
