Frankfurt am Main, 8 September 2026 — The European Pressphoto Agency B.V. (EPA Images) today announced the launch of a scholarship for young female photojournalists to attend the EPA Academy in Frankfurt with the support of its global partner Canon. Applications are officially open for two full scholarships aimed at supporting young women aspiring to build a career in visual journalism.
The Canon-EPA Young Female Photojournalist Scholarship covers full tuition for the 2026/2027 edition of the EPA Academy’s Advanced Programme in International News Photography, starting on 15 October 2026. Designed to fit around work or academic commitments, the 12-month program combines intensive three-day monthly seminars, online sessions, and an internship at EPA Images, one of the leading global news photo agencies.
The application phase closes on 20 September 2026. Eligible candidates are aspiring female photojournalists up to 25 years old (or currently enrolled in a related field of study) with legal residence in Germany. Applicants should be fluent in German to collaborate on content production for social media, and proficient in English to attend the EPA Academy courses.

As part of the strategic partnership between Canon and EPA, the manufacturer will also provide participants of the current cohort of the Advanced Programme in International News Photography with an equipment loan and offer an additional workshop at its Canon Customer Experience Center in Krefeld, Germany.
The EPA Academy is the training initiative of EPA Images, and its Advanced Programme in International News Photography takes place at the agency's headquarters in Frankfurt, in the heart of Europe. The EPA Academy offers participants a unique learning environment in direct exchange with experienced photojournalists and picture editors from the international agency business.
