Second Stakeholder Dialogue November 05th

On 5th November CEPIC participated in the Second Meeting of the Stakeholder Dialogue on the implementation of the EU Copyright Directive. The objective of this high level meeting is to hear stakeholders' views and to discuss possible practical solutions for the application of Article 17. The European Commission will establish rules for "Best Practices".

At Adobe MAX, Adobe (Nasdaq:ADBE) announced on 4th Nov. the Content Authenticity Initiative, along with The New York Times Company (NYSE:NYT) and Twitter (NYSE:TWTR), aimed at developing an industry standard for digital content attribution.

How Google bypassed publishers rights

France is the first country to have implemented in part the EU Copyright Directive by introducing the press publishers right in July 2019. This right gives press publishers and press agencies the right to demand remuneration for short digital publications such as snippets showed in Google News.
