Antonios Baris

Legal, Policy, and Technology Counsellor

Antonios Baris is Legal, Policy, and Technology Counsellor at IFRRO, a position he has held since December 2024. A Greek-qualified lawyer and member of the Thessaloniki Bar Association since 2021, he specialises in copyright law and the legal implications of emerging technologies. Before assuming this role, he served as a Legal Intern at IFRRO, contributing to projects including the AI Advocacy Toolkit, international submissions on AI and copyright, and capacity-building initiatives in Africa. He previously was a Book Review Editor and a blogger for The IPKat, where he covered major international developments in copyright case law, and he has also published academic work on the relationship between copyright and artificial intelligence, including issues such as text and data mining, generative AI, and collective rights management. Antonios holds three Master’s degrees: an M.A. in Art Law and Art Management from the International Hellenic University, an LL.M. in Legal Theory and Interdisciplinary Legal Studies with a specialisation in copyright law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and an LL.M. in European Intellectual Property Law from Stockholm University.
