Register Now: CEPIC Launches Summer Webinar Series with First Session on the EU AI Act & C2PA

Webinar 1 of CEPIC's 3-Part Summer Webinar Series
9 July 2026 | 16:30 CET | Online | 60 minutes

With the EU AI Act entering into force on 2 August 2026, organisations across the visual content industry are preparing for a new era of transparency and content provenance.

To help the industry understand these changes, CEPIC is launching a three-part Summer Webinar Series exploring the practical, technical and business implications of the new legislation. Designed for picture agencies, archives, content creators, brands and technology providers, the series will provide practical guidance on navigating the evolving AI landscape.

Our first webinar, Compliance Now, Trust Tomorrow: EU AI Act & C2PA, takes place on 9 July and will be presented by Cindy Han, Co-founder of Trufo.

Why this webinar matters

Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act requires providers of generative AI systems to mark synthetic content in a machine-readable format. The recently published Code of Practice identifies cryptographically signed metadata and imperceptible watermarking as the primary technical approaches for achieving this. While C2PA is not explicitly named in the legislation, it is increasingly recognised across the industry as the leading framework for implementing these requirements.

These developments extend far beyond regulatory compliance. Platforms, browsers, AI agents and content buyers are beginning to validate, display and rely upon provenance information and trust signals when assessing digital content. For picture agencies, brands and content businesses, provenance metadata is rapidly becoming not only a legal expectation but also an indicator of authenticity, transparency and commercial value.

During this one-hour webinar, attendees will gain a practical understanding of what Article 50 requires, who may be affected, and how organisations can begin preparing today.

What we'll cover

  • Decoding EU AI Act Article 50(2): A clear breakdown of these transparency obligations, who falls under the mandate, key implementation deadlines and the technical requirements referenced in the Code of Practice.
  • C2PA as the Compliance Engine: Why the C2PA standard is emerging as the leading framework for embedding machine-readable provenance information and tamper-evident Content Credentials.
  • From Legal Risk to Asset Value: How platforms, browsers, AI agents and content buyers are already beginning to validate and rely on C2PA trust signals, and what this means for the future value of digital content.
  • Implementation in Practice: A practical overview of the different ways organisations can integrate Content Credentials into existing workflows and technology stacks.
