Integration of Imatag’s invisible watermarking into PIXRAY’s Fair Licensing platform opens a new revenue stream for photo and news agencies.
RENNES, France, and BERLIN, Germany — May 6, 2026 — Imatag and PIXRAY today announced a partnership that, for the first time, enables photo and news agencies to monetize copyright infringements on non-exclusive imagery. By integrating Imatag’s invisible watermarking and monitoring technology into PIXRAY’s Fair Licensing copyright enforcement platform, the two companies open a previously untapped revenue stream for agencies that license content non-exclusively.
Through the new Imatag Connector inside the PIXRAY platform, joint customers can validate Imatag watermarks on infringements identified by PIXRAY, and process infringements identified by Imatag’s monitoring directly within their PIXRAY workflow. When PIXRAY detects an unlicensed use of an image and confirms an Imatag watermark on it, the agency can be certain that the picture was not licensed through a different agency - and can confidently pursue post-licensing revenue.
Speaking at the CEPIC 2026 Conference in Valencia on Tuesday, Dennis Wetzig, CEO and co-founder of PIXRAY, said: “By partnering with Imatag, we’re unlocking the massive potential of non-exclusive photography for our shared customers. Most agencies work with a significant share of non-exclusive content that has been inaccessible to post-licensing until now - this integration changes that.”
Mathieu Desoubeaux, CEO and founder of Imatag, added: “This partnership underlines the immediate value agencies get from watermarking their images. In addition to existing use cases like authenticity certification, leak protection, and usage monitoring, the partnership with PIXRAY gives our users a fully integrated way to leverage our watermarking technology for copyright enforcement.”
The Imatag Connector is available on the PIXRAY platform as of May 6, 2026
