We're pleased to announce that Sylvie Fodor, Executive Director of CEPIC, will represent our organisation at the sixth edition of the Parliament of Photography, hosted by the French Ministry of Culture on 17 and 18 June 2025 at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
Held under the theme "Almost 200 years—and now what?", this major gathering brings together cultural institutions, photography professionals, visual arts organisations and policymakers to reflect on the past, present and future of photography.
This year, a central topic will be "Photography and the challenge of AI", an issue that CEPIC continues to monitor closely. Sylvie will attend with a specific interest in the session that explores the legal and technological frameworks shaping how artificial intelligence impacts the creation, distribution, and protection of photographic works.
CEPIC has been at the forefront of policy discussions around AI-generated content, copyright protection, content licensing and transparency in training data. We believe that photography must continue to be recognised and protected as a form of creative expression, and that fair frameworks must be put in place to support the creators and rights holders who contribute to our cultural record.
The session on AI and photography will examine key questions:
We look forward to engaging with these timely and complex issues in Paris and to continuing our advocacy on behalf of picture agencies, photographers and visual content professionals across Europe.
