Greek Model Discovers His Image On A Turkish Yogourt
A curious case was published by Pictorial in its issue 4/2010. Barbro Kaufmann, CEPIC Committee Member and former managing director of IMS in Sweden, comments on the article and on the case.
It's about a Greek model, Minas Karatzoglou, whose picture appears on the packaging of a Turkish yogourt sold by the Swedish dairy LINDAHLS. The picture was accidently discovered by a Swedish friend of Minas. LINDAHL faced a lawsuit for infringement of personality rights with a demand for damages amounting to 50 million Swedish Krones and/ or 5 million euros. The now 74-year old Greek model claims that he agreed to be photographed for a private photo album, not for the packaging of a Turkish yogourt to be sold in Swedish supermarkets !
