FOODPHOTO FESTIVAL 2011 Opens registration
The second international FOODPHOTO FESTIVAL in Tarragona Spain will take place from 29th of September to 16th of October. During the festival world’s best Food Photographers will meet for exhibitions, workshops and networking
The exhibitions will be open to the public from 29th of September to 16th of October and will take place in the renovated docs in the harbour of Tarragona. Photographers from all over the world have applied for participation - and half of the exhibitions have already been selected by the organizers.
Among the participants are:
- Roland Persson (Sweden), professional photographer of many cookbooks, will be showing his work from “food to eat at least once in your life”, that won the first prize for best printing of the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
- Adrian Mueller (Switzerland/USA), Adrian has been named as one of Lürzer's Archive 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide 2010/2011. He will exhibit his work with famous chef Matthew Kenney.
- Caren Alpert (San Francisco), a widely published commercial photographer, shows her creative work under a microscope.
- Francesca Mosheni (Italy) , travelled all over the world to be inspired and this reflects her widely published work in life-style and food photography.
We are especially proud and excited to announce the participation of Hans Hansen (Germany) – Exhibiting a series, using seaweed, that was created in cooperation with Frauke Koops for the special issue “Kulinarik II” of mare magazine.
More remarkable work will be shown in the night screenings in the open air on the beautiful “Plaça del Rei” during the evenings of 29th, 30th of September and 1st of October. On the 1st of October, after the screening the FOOD PHOTO AND FOOD FEATURE OF THE YEAR award will be handed out, selected by an international jury.
Conferences and workshops
During the Festival’s program – from 29th of September to 2nd of October, Food Photography professionals from all over the world will be brought together. These three days will provide a rare opportunity for people to meet others in their field; to facilitate an interchange of experiences; discuss trends; discover new products and find partners for the realization of new projects.
The days will be filled with an interesting program of Conferences, free of charge, and workshops, against a discounted fee for accredited visitors.
Peter Steiner ,Art Director of the avant-garde gourmet magazine Der Feinschmecker, will be offering tips on what makes a successful portfolio in his conference “Portfolio Optimisation”.
“Put your Ego out of my Picture” is the title of the conference by Anne Kleinberg, the American/Israeli food writer. She casts light on the collaboration between writer and photographer.
There will be also conferences on creating Apps, packshots, why Google cannot find my website, and workshops on foodstyling, lighting and the making of liquid illusions by Ray Massey, …
Accreditation
Accreditation includes participation in all conferences and portfolio reviews. Workshop participation will be possible against a discounted fee for accredited visitors or can be booked separately (limited places). Accreditation is now open and possible only through the Festival’s website. Those who book by 1st of August will receive an early-registration discount.
