HAPPY NEW DECADE!
Christina Vaughan, CEPIC President
The team here at CEPIC are feeling very excited and optimistic about what the future holds for our organisation and for all our members.
Since election last June, we have undergone a number of changes and our tireless and committed team have got involved in several important projects which we believe will result in a better and more conducive environment for all our members businesses to flourish in.
We have worked to revise the Statutes in order to create a more transparent organisation for our members and to allow us to enlarge our membership in a climate of changing media.
We have made a commitment to the EU so that CEPIC can finally have a voice in European legislation related to IP, Copyright and initiatives for a more competitive online environment.
We have taken a position on Europeana, Orphan Works, the Google Book Settlemement and other important legislation that may influence how we deal in copyright going forward into this next decade.
We have worked hard to improve our website and we would be delighted to get your immediate feedback of our soft launch.
There’s lots more that we are working on and we will continue to update you in our news bulletins and through our social media optimisation programme. So make sure you are signed up to follow us on Linked In and Facebook as well as on new RSS Feeds that will be coming up.
Finally, we love seeing you in person and there is only one place to do that in style this year - and that is our International Conference in Dublin this year. We have already had feedback that everybody who is anybody in our industry will be making a point of attending this year as well as lots of new faces and new business types. You will be able to do all the things that you normally do at Congress as well as so much more such as seeing Trade Exhibitors, hearing about new Business opportunities and very importantly, there is the Annual Industry Party - this year included in your Registration Fee - that will rock in Dublin like no other party - we’ve got music, we’ve got bands, we have entertainment and a view like no other!
Come meet and party with all your industry colleagues in one of the most convivial and friendliest cities in the world - it’s June 9th - 13th and all your CEPIC Committee will be there to discuss, chat and answer your questions as to how we better serve you.
Happy New Decade and I look forward to meeting you all personally in Dublin in June - book now - it’s not far away at all!
Kind regards,
Christina Vaughan
CEPIC President
