IPTC: First Steps Down the Photo Metadata Road

The first Photo Metadata Conference of 2007 in Florence, Italy, was an event of excellent discussions about photo metadata issues at a very high level. But one major issue was left open: Who will follow up all
the great ideas brought up at the conference? The IPTC took action and committed itself to the Photo Metadata Roadmap with five major items:
- 1. Make specifications from metadata recommendations
- 2. Start resolving open issues of the IPTC Photo Metadata White Paper
- 3. Continue talking to camera makers and CIPA
- 4. Consider creating photo workflow standards
- 5. Collaboration with other parties
