I would like to think that anyone who is reading this piece is alread convinced of the benefits of licensing images outside their home territory. Gone are the days when one could boast of being “the largest picture library in Latvia”. The reality is that, like it or not, we are all part of the global economy. Our favourite designer clothes may have been designed in Italy but are probably manufactured in Morocco or Mauritius, our so-called Japanese car could have been screwed together in the UK and that striking piece of Nordic furniture possibly originated in a Slovakian pine forest.
