Lietzenburger-Strasse 91After version 1.1 of the IPTC Core and the IPTC extensions 1.0, which had been passed in summer 2008, professional picture suppliers as well as picture buyers can now use a filed selection of possiblities to mark and describe photos. Extensions within the references, refinements of the content description parameters, consideration of special needs for stock and art photography turn the IPTC Core 1.1 into a powerful tool for the picture expert. It needs a solid training in order to use almost 80 data fields efficiently (compared with the current IM standard which has 20 data fields).
During the seminar you will learn how to use these fields. With the help of official IPTC documents, you will gain an insight into IPTC Core 1.1 structures and IPTC extensions and its applications. The seminar aims at everybody who is working within a picture agency or an archive as an photo editor, a photographer, archivist or press officer and who have to do with picture description.
The speaker Jan Leidicke (Keystone press office) is member of IPTC on behalf of the BVPA and had been involved in the development of the current IPTC Core.
The seminar takes place in the Hamburg Maritim Hotel Reichshof (situated next to the mainstation). Registration (lunch, coffee breaks and drinks included) costs 250,00 €, BVPA members pay 150,00 €.
