European Commission Investigation - Market Testing Resource

ICOMP has now a page on its website sharing a selection of market test responses from members and other interested parties who have kindly let them make their response public.

On April 25th, 2013 as part of its investigation in Google's anti-trust business practices, the European Commission announced that it was to invite comments from market players and complainants on commitments offered by Google in relation to online search and search advertising. More information about the market test can be found on the ICOMP blog.

The site, www.agefotostock.com, has been especially designed by in-house age fotostock web designers and programmers in direct response to research of customer and client needs. SUMA-EV press release rejecting Google’s proposals to the European Commission

ICOMP Member, SUMA-EV published a press release this week rejecting Google’s proposals to the European Commission, and explained how the company asked Almunia to proceed with Google.

It stated that dominant search engines should not be preinstalled in browsers or the browser’s URL bar. The statement added that search engines should not be allowed to display its own services above organic search results. For additional detail, read the German news here.

Mary Evans Picture Library is delighted to announce its purchase of Ardea, one of the UK's leading wildlife, pets and environment picture libraries.

Sophie Gooders, current owner of Ardea, which was started more than 40 years ago by Sophie's mother Su, has decided that it is time for her to move out of the industry. However, having put so much of herself into the picture library and with so many friends amongst the photographers, Sophie did not just want the collection to be absorbed into another library and lose its identity.
